Starting Tuesday April 1st I am going to rediscover some Errol Flynn titles. Films that I haven’t seen in at least 10 years. I have been meaning to hi-light a film star since starting this site and have been tossing a few names about. I decided to go with Flynn mainly because anytime a friend asks me to name someone who I think best represents a film star I think of Flynn. Naturally I am not talking about his off screen antics but purely what I see on the screen. For me between 1938 and 1945 Flynn had it all, looks, athleticism, charisma and pure star power. He could play a wide variety of genre’s and was a better actor than he or anyone else seemed to think at the time. So join me next week in re-discovering some of his films. Hopefully it will inspire someone to check out his library of films for the first time or re-watch them because there is always much to enjoy from Errol’s adventures.
this better not be an April Fool gag because as a big Flynn Fan I approve and can’t wait! 🙂
That did cross my mind but no it’s for real. I watched one last night that really floored me it was so good. Kind of spurred me on into doing an Errol week.
Great choice. I’ve been a big fan of Flynn for a long time. Look forward to seeing what you choose.
Sifting thru over 40 titles to come up with a few it’s been years since seeing. So I guess Robin Hood is out as I watch that one about every 2 years or so.
Gentleman Jim and They Died With Their Boots are my two favorite Flynn movies. I hope you have seen Uncertain Glory, that’s a real good one also. I know I have enjoyed a film when I can remember the last line it. ” He was a Frenchman ” was the last line to Uncertain Glory.
Nice to hear from a Flynn fan. Uncertain Glory I have seen as it’s in one of the box sets released. Another fine effort from Flynn and director Walsh.
