Love that poster in the background! I see Steve Kanaly is in this too; I always thought him cool.. I can see why you consider those must-see actors, Oates and Johnson are so good. I must see this one.
No matter how many films I watch it’s the character actors that can make or break so many films and I have always been a big fan of the Peckinpah stock company. Stanton and Lewis are always fun to check out and Kanaly does a great job as Pretty Boy Floyd. The film also has a great 2 minute montage half way thru that needs to be seen to be appreciated.
The 1945 Dillinger with Lawrence Tierney was a cool film too!
Absolutely, been a while since I have seen it but I grew up under the influence of Warren Oates as The Wild Bunch was and remains a big favorite. Thanks for watching.
Oh my days! After all the times I’ve watched Stripes as a teenager (no not for the mud wrestling scene, looks from side to side) I had never ever realised that the Sergeant Hulka was Warren Oats! but as soon as I heard you say it, it became a classic DOH! of course moment. I think Stripes might of been my watched VHS cassette?
