Could That Be An Actor In a Santa Claus Suit?

Actor’s inevitably seem to find themselves playing jolly old Saint Nick. Especially the ones with the expanding waistline. Folks like Edward Asner and Charles Durning. Every year sees a new addition to the gallery with the inevitable release of a yule tide flick. Skinny ones? Yes there have been a few of those aimed squarely at our funny bone. Nasty ones? Billy Bob Thornton fits the bill.

Here’s a selection of faces you may recognize in the red suit and the big set of whiskers. Test yourself with these stills.

Popeye in a Santa suit? Kind of. Just don’t be naughty with this rattle snake mean Santa.

The skinniest Santa of all? Gotta be in the running.

How about an Oscar for donning the outfit.

I caught sight of this paste up and just had to include it.

This could be a tough one. A heist film from my homeland of Canada and a darn good one. Care to take a guess at who that robber is beneath the whiskers.

plummer as santa

Speaking of Canada, the actor here starring as Louis Winthorpe III is having a real bad day in a Santa suit. “The Dukes… ruined my life… over a bet?”

Check back tomorrow for some Christmas fun with Louis, Billy Ray, Mortimer and Randolph as Kristina over at Speakeasy and myself celebrate a film we love to quote.

  1. I identified approximately, um, 1 of those. The heist movie I was thinking of that involved Santas wasn’t made in Canada, so can’t be the right one.

All best wishes for the season and of course for 2016.
