After a couple months of intense negotiations over finding the right director to film the third installment of videos dedicated to having the right books lying around to better your viewing pleasure of classic films it turns out that Kristina herself wanted to spread her wings and become something of an Ida Lupino taking over the directorial duties.
Let’s have a look to see if she has what it takes to leave her mark in the world of youtube noir/cinema and somehow turn yours truly into a younger version of Robert Osborne. Or will she just be another __________. Choose your own failed director and fill in the blank.
If it flops we can always use the Alan Smithee credit! Well I certainly can’t complain about my lead actor! Another fun time and hopefully people enjoy the book selections and repartee 🙂
Great comeback with the Smithee! Always fun to chat film with a costar as knowledgeable as you and way better looking than me.
Keep the flattery coming and I’ll cast you in the next picture. Seriously thank you!
Yes, people enjoy it…at least I do, so keep ’em coming! And Mike, I think ‘dish’ would’ve worked, too. And yes, I got the grapefruit reference!
In hindsight I really wish I had a grapefruit as a prop for this one. Dish is another good word that would have fit for sure,. Thanks for watching. Fun to do.
I already left a comment on Kristina’s site, insisting you get some theme music and an agent, ASAP.
I enjoy all these episodes, but I think this one is my fave so far. The Claudette Colbert joke = LOL!!
Thanks for the recommendation re: “Hardboiled Hollywood”. I can’t believe you found that in a bargain bin! Am going to look for it at the library.
I love putting some kind of funny nod to classic films like Claudette or the last episode where I was standing on some books to be taller than my leading lady like Mr. Ladd. The Hardboiled book was a good find. Happy reading and be sure to share some titles right back at us.Thanks for watching.
full credit goes to Mike for the Claudette gag, I was a bit shy and almost cut it out completely! Shows you what I know about directing.
Left a comment on Kristina’s version so I’ll just a well done here. Keep ’em coming guys.
I know you’ll like that gunmen and gangsters book. Nice to learn something about the lesser known guys. Thanks for tuning in.
