I actually haven’t seen either the TV movies or the series. I’ve heard of them of course as there are plenty of fans out there.
One thing I find about these old TV movies, and series too, is the wonderful depth of talent in front of and behind the camera.
TV Movies are almost a forgotten genre other than a chosen few. If you look at the credit list of most film people who were getting older in the 70’s you’ll find that many moved into the tv movie of the week. Some are very hard to find now but do surface on youtube etc.
as you know I was a huge X-Files fan, so that’s how I first discovered this, it was a big influence on that show (come to think of it X-Files led me backward to a LOT of classic much and better stuff) and you’re right it is a lot of fun. I’ve been exploring and marking many of the TV movies on youtube, there really are many to be found.
This was one that I loved as a kid and was always trying to catch re-runs as it was off the air but I would see pics of it in Famous Monsters and other magazines. I need to seek out more titles on youtube.
Cool, Mike! I l loved watching Kolchak when I was a kid…thankfully, the shows were on Friday nights so I could stay up to watch them! It’s too bad McGavin didn’t make an appearance as Kolchak on ‘The X-Files’ at some point.
Thanks. My love for this show and movies never dies. It’s because of this that I’ll always be a McGavin fan.
No way wasn’t expecting a video review on it. Loved this film. Dude you have way too much film knowledge. Love the passion. I’ve only ever seen a few episodes of the series over the years. Need to get that box set. Nice one
lol. Thanks a lot. I’m about due for a new video review on something. Havent done one for a long time. This one was filmed about two years ago. It was nice to watch it again, now I’ll have to watch the sequel flick again.
Any excuse for another watch is a good thing 🙂
