Stewart Granger is one of those actors I didn’t pay much attention to growing up but my Mother sure did. She’d tell me of his role in King Solomon’s Mines and compare it to Raiders of the Lost Ark’s Indian Jones. Yeah sure Mom. Ok Mom. I’ll have to watch that sometime Mom. I think Mom might have had a crush on old Stewie.
What I did learn is that Granger had a great presence on screen from about 1950 to 1958 in Hollywood and made some of the most enjoyable films of the period. Many were of the costume variety like The Prisoner of Zenda and Salome.
So check back and rediscover five films in five days right along with me starring Jimmy Stewart. aka Stewart Granger.
Honestly, did you know that was Granger’s real name?

Great choice to feature. He’s seriously underrated as an actor.
I really like his films from the period of his years in Hollywood. Nice mixture of genres and budgets.
I commend your mom’s fine taste in actors, and look forward to this, I like him a lot too.
One I got past the fact that he was more than just one of “Mom’s faves” when I was at a young age I started to enjoy many of his films.
